Ecotherapy at Temple Counselling: Connecting with Nature for Wellbeing
Experience the transformative power of nature with Temple Counselling's Ecotherapy sessions. Led by our experienced founder, Jayme, these unique sessions offer a refreshing alternative to traditional indoor counselling and psychotherapy.
Ecotherapy draws inspiration from indigenous wisdom and harnesses the healing potential of natural environments. It is a form of ecopsychology that combines outdoor activities with therapeutic sessions in nature. At Temple Counselling, we have developed a specialised approach to Ecotherapy, incorporating various evidence-based modalities like narrative therapy, CBT, Prolonged Exposure, hypnotherapy, mindful breathing, and physical activities to enhance mental and emotional wellbeing.
Our Ecotherapy sessions provide an opportunity to step outside the confines of a traditional therapy room. They last approximately 90+ minutes and are subject to weather conditions.
Ecotherapy has proven to be effective for individuals from all walks of life, with particular benefits for defense personnel, police officers, first responders, and First Nations individuals. Rest assured that our eco-based services adhere to strict ethical and professional boundaries. We value the interplay of ideas, perspectives, and therapeutic approaches across all three domains.
If you're curious about the benefits of being immersed in nature, we recommend reading the article "Ecopsychology: How Immersion in Nature Benefits Your Health" by the Yale School of the Environment. It highlights the growing body of research supporting the positive effects of nature exposure on health, stress reduction, and healing.
